Fortanete ist eine Gemeinde und Ort in der aragonischen Provinz Teruel im Maestrazgo, Spanien. Es liegt auf einer Höhe von 1353 m über dem Meeresspiegel und hat eine Fläche von 168,21 km² sowie eine Bevölkerung von 204 Einwohnern.
Fortanete liegt im Tal des Flusses Fortanete, geschützt von zwei robusten Gebirgszügen, der Sierra de la Cañada und den Sierras de Tarrascón-Las Lastras. An seinen Gipfeln, die abgeflacht und massiv sind, über 1700 Meter hoch, entspringen die Abbrüche, die zahlreiche Schluchten in seinen Hängen wie tiefe Kerben ausgegraben haben.
