Der Park Güell befindet sich im Stadtteil Gràcia auf einem Berg. Hier kann man aus verschiedenen Gründen kommen, um die Natur zu genießen oder spazieren zu gehen, aber vor allem, um eines der Meisterwerke von Antoni Gaudí zu besichtigen und die atemberaubende Aussicht über die Stadt Barcelona zu genießen.
Der Park Güell wurde durch die Zusammenlegung von zwei Höfen, Can Muntaner de Dalt und Can Coll i Pujol, geschaffen. Diese wurden 1899 von Graf Eusebi Güell gekauft, der Gaudí den Auftrag gab, einen Wohnpark in der Nähe seines Hofes, Can Muntaner, zu bauen. Die Absicht war, eine 'Privatgartenstadt' für die wohlhabenden Barcelonesen zu schaffen.
Für den monumentalen Teil des Park Güell (Haupteingang, das Eidechse, Sala Hipóstila, Plaça de la Naturalesa und Viadukte) muss seit 2013 Eintritt gezahlt werden. Tickets kosten online 7 € und an der Kasse 8 €.
