Die Kathedrale von Sevilla (Kathedrale Santa Maria de la Seu) hat die Form einer kreuzförmigen Kirche mit fünf Schiffen mit Kapellen und weist Innenabmessungen von 127 Metern Länge, 83 Metern Breite und 43 Metern Höhe auf.
Damit ist sie nach dem Petersdom in Rom und der St. Paul’s Cathedral in London die größte Kirche Europas und gleichzeitig die größte gotische Kirche der Welt. Die Giralda, der 104,5 Meter hohe Glockenturm der Kathedrale , ist das Wahrzeichen der Stadt Sevilla.
Die Kathedrale von Sevilla verfügt über ein außergewöhnlich reiches Erbe . Seit 1987 steht es auf der Liste des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes.
