La cathédrale de Séville (Catedral de Santa María de la Sede) est construite sous la forme d'une église cruciforme à cinq nefs avec des chapelles et mesure 127 mètres de long, 83 mètres de large et 43 mètres de haut à l'intérieur.
Elle est ainsi le plus grand édifice religieux d'Europe après la basilique Saint-Pierre de Rome et la cathédrale Saint-Paul de Londres, et également le plus grand édifice religieux gothique du monde. La Giralda, le clocher de la cathédrale de 104,5 mètres de haut , est l'emblème de la ville de Séville.
La cathédrale de Séville possède un patrimoine architectural d'une richesse exceptionnelle . Depuis 1987, elle est inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.
