Die Schlacht von Puente del Arzobispo war eine Schlacht im Spanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg, die am 8. August 1809 in El Puente del Arzobispo zwischen Jean-de-Dieu Soult und General Gregorio de la Cuesta stattfand.
Nach der katastrophalen Konvention von Sintra, in der die Rückführung der französischen Truppen, die in der Schlacht von Vimeiro besiegt wurden, erlaubt wurde, wurden die britischen Expeditionskräfte in Spanien und Portugal unter das Kommando von John Moore gestellt. Mit der Ankunft Napoleons mit einer Armee in Spanien betraten die Franzosen am 4. Dezember Madrid[1] und Soult erhielt den Befehl des Kaisers, das englische Heer des Generals Moore zu verfolgen und zu besiegen, das während der Schlacht von Elviña in La Coruña erneut einschiffen musste.[2]
