Sie war bei der Eröffnung die erste Ringautobahn und ist, wie alle anderen Autovía, gebührenfrei. Sie wird von der AP-7 umschlossen und war bis zur Namensänderung im Jahr 2004 Teil der Autovía del Mediterráneo . Die Autobahn wird von der öffentlichen Hand betrieben.
Die A-70 verläuft bis El Campello gemeinsam mit der AP-7. Sie führt an den Städten Alicante, Muchamiel und San Juan de Alicante vorbei. In Elche wird sie an die A-7 angebunden.
