Die Comarca Baix Empordà liegt in der Provinz Girona der Autonomen Gemeinschaft von Katalonien . Baix Empordà entstand 1936 aus dem südlichen Teil der historischen Grafschaft Empordà . Der Gemeindeverband hat eine Fläche von 702 km² und 134.359 Einwohner .
Der Gemeindeverband liegt im äußersten Osten von Katalonien, er grenzt im Norden an die Comarca Alt Empordà , im Westen an Gironès, im Süden an Selva und im Osten an die 78 km lange Küste des Mittelmeers. Zusammen mit den Comarcas Alt Empordà, Garrotxa, Gironès, Pla de l’Estany, Selva und Ripollès bildet die Region das Territorium Comarques gironines.
