El Molinar ist ein Arbeiter- und Fischerquartier in der Bucht von Palma, 4 km von der Stadt entfernt, und hat etwa 8.000 Einwohner. Es gehört zur Gemeinde Palma und grenzt im Osten an Can Pere Antoni durch den Portitxol, im Süden an den Industriepark von Llevant und Son Malferit durch die Autobahn von Llevant und im Westen an den Coll d'en Rabassa durch den Torrent Gros. Es entstand Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts rund um den ehemaligen Fischerhafen von Portitxol. Es wird auch als zweiter Molinar oder Molinar de Llevant bezeichnet, um es von dem benachbarten ersten Molinar oder Molinar de Ponent, alternativen Namen des Stadtteils Can Pere Antoni, zu unterscheiden.
