El Molinar is a working-class and fishing neighborhood in the Bay of Palma, 4km from the city, with about 8,000 inhabitants. It is part of the municipality of Palma and borders Can Pere Antoni by Portitxol, the Polígon de Llevant and Son Malferit by the Llevant highway, and Coll d'en Rabassa by the torrent Gros. It originated in the mid-19th century around the old fishing port of Portitxol. It is also known as Segon Molinar or Molinar de Llevant, to distinguish it from the neighboring Primer Molinar or Molinar de Ponent, which are alternative names for the neighborhood of Can Pere Antoni.
