Die Kathedrale Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte dominiert das Panorama der Stadt Nevers vom gegenüber liegenden Westufer der Loire aus, in dem sie sich mit ihrer Südfront über die gesamte weitgehend historische Bebauung der Stadtfassade über den nahen Herzogpalast erhebt. Sie steht auf dem höchsten Punkt der teils noch von den mittelalterlichen Festungsmauern umgebenden Altstadt. Sie gehört zu den weniger bekannten Kathedralen Frankreichs.
