Das Château de Cherveux befindet sich in der Gemeinde Cherveux im Département Deux-Sèvres. Es ist seit dem 16. September 1929 als historisches Denkmal klassifiziert. Ursprünglich war es eine einfache feudal Technik. Cherveux wurde 1100 erwähnt als Abhängigkeit der Abtei Saint-Maixent. Danach gelangte es in die Hände der Lusignan und wurde zu einer Festung. Das Haus Lusignan erlangte bereits im frühen Mittelalter eine Macht, die es Guy de Lusignan ermöglichte, den Thron von Zypern und Jerusalem zu besteigen - eine Insel, die Richard Löwenherz zu Beginn des 12. Jahrhunderts eroberte.
