Il castello di Cherveux si trova nel comune di Cherveux nel dipartimento delle Deux-Sèvres. È classificato come monumento storico dal 16 settembre 1929. In origine, era una semplice motte feudale. Cherveux è menzionato nel 1100 come dipendenza dell'abbazia di Saint-Maixent. Poi passa nelle mani dei Lusignan e diventa una fortezza. La casa dei Lusignan acquisisce sin dall'alto Medioevo un potere che consente a Guy de Lusignan di ascendere al trono di Cipro e di Gerusalemme - isola conquistata da Riccardo Cuor di Leone all'inizio del XII secolo.
