Das 1518 erbaute Arsenal besteht aus drei Gebäuden. Zunächst wurde es Zeughaus genannt, doch erst 1785 erhielt es den Namen Saint-Hilaire, als es vom Kommandanten der Artillerie der Stadt, Marc Gaspard Capriol de Saint-Hilaire, umgebaut wurde. Im Arsenal wurden mehrere Tausend Pionierwerkzeuge, Blei, Teer und Munition aufbewahrt. Der beeindruckende Dachstuhl mit drei Ebenen von Dachböden, die mit Tommettes bedeckt waren, zeugt von der Lagerfunktion des Gebäudes.
