Entdeckt 1905 von dem Wissenschaftler und Biospeleologen Armand VIRÉ. Die Höhle kann seit 1906 besichtigt werden.
Seit 1961 ist der Zugang mit einem kleinen elektrischen Zug möglich. Dieser fährt 400 Meter unter die Erde, um Sie ins Herz des Hügels zu bringen.
Die Besichtigung erfolgt zu Fuß mit einem Führer. Von Anfang an werden Sie im Saal des Chaos die wunderbare Welt des Erdinneren entdecken. In den nächsten eineinviertel Stunden werden Sie mehr als 150 Millionen Jahre Geschichte, Kristalle, märchenhafte Welten und legendäre Tiere sehen. Ihr Besuch endet im Wundersaal, einem 2.000 m² großen Raum unter Schwarzlicht, in dem die phosphoreszierenden Konkretionen die Stille durchdringen.
