Im Nordosten des Departements Lot-et-Garonne, im Tal der Lède und in der Gemeinde Lacapelle-Biron, liegt der Weiler Saint-Avit mit seinen charakteristischen Häusern, in dem das Museum Bernard Palissy untergebracht ist. Es ist dem Leben und Werk von Bernard Palissy (1510-1590) gewidmet, einem Schriftsteller, Keramiker, aber auch Humanisten des 16. Jahrhunderts.
Das Musée Bernard Palissy zeugt von dem Willen des Vereins der Freunde des Museums Bernard Palissy und der Gemeinde Lacapelle-Biron, einen lebendigen Ort zum Thema Keramik zu eröffnen. Neben der Dauerausstellung über das Leben und Werk von Bernard Palissy können Sie hier jedes Jahr von Mitte Mai bis Ende September wechselnde Ausstellungen renommierter zeitgenössischer Keramiker zu einem jährlich wechselnden Thema bewundern.
