Al noreste del departamento de Lot-et-Garonne, en el valle del Lède y en el municipio de Lacapelle-Biron, la aldea de Saint-Avit alberga el Museo Bernard Palissy. El lugar está dedicado a la vida y obra de Bernard Palissy (1510-1590), escritor, ceramista y humanista del siglo XVI.
El Museo Bernard Palissy responde a la voluntad de la Asociación de Amigos del Museo Bernard Palissy y del municipio de Lacapelle-Biron de crear un espacio vivo dedicado a la cerámica. Además de la exposición permanente sobre la vida y la obra de Bernard Palissy, cada año, de mediados de mayo a finales de septiembre, se pueden admirar exposiciones temporales de ceramistas contemporáneos de renombre sobre un tema que cambia cada año.
