In den Gassen des kleinen Dorfes Saint-Dyé können Sie sein architektonisches Erbe und die Ufer der Loire entdecken. Von seiner blühenden Vergangenheit als aktiver Hafen (wo das Baumaterial aus Chambord ankam) hat es hübsche Häuser aus dem 15., 16. und 17. Jh. sowie einen bedeutenden Teil seiner Befestigungsanlagen bewahrt: sechs runde Ecktürme (von fünfzehn) und die Wälle, die einst den Marktflecken verteidigten, die rechteckige Stadtmauer mit ihren drei Eingängen.
