Rosa, blau, gelb - aber was ist das für ein seltsames Gebäude, das in der Nacht in Regenbogenfarben schimmert?
Die Porte de Sarrelouis ist eines der noch sichtbaren Überbleibsel des Festungsgürtels, der Thionville im 18. Heute bietet es eine erstaunliche Perspektive auf den Eingang der Stadt. Ästhetisch ist sie nicht wirklich. Ihre Aufgabe war vor allem militärischer Natur. Giebelleisten und Gesimse sind die einzigen Verschönerungen, die sie sich erlaubt. Während der Annexion wurde der Turm von den Deutschen abgeriegelt, der untere Teil zugeschüttet und in ein Blockhaus umgewandelt.
