Champtel bedeutet Feld der Linde. Öffentlicher Platz im Stadtzentrum von La Bresse. Unter einer Linde befand sich früher eine Steinbank, auf der Recht gesprochen wurde. Der Granitbrunnen auf diesem Platz ist Joseph Remy gewidmet, einem Bressauer, der im 19. Jahrhundert die künstliche Vermehrung von Forellen erfunden hat.
