Das an der Flanke des Mont Saint-Clair auf einer Terrasse über dem Cimetière marin und dem Meer eingerichtete Musée Paul Valéry hat eine außergewöhnliche Lage.
Zu den Kunstsammlungen mit über 700 Gemälden und mehr als 1000 Zeichnungen kommen zwei spezielle Bestände hinzu: der Fonds Paul Valéry und eine volkskundliche Sammlung.
In den umliegenden Gärten finden Freiluftveranstaltungen statt: ein multidisziplinäres Programm mit Vorträgen, Literaturbegegnungen, Poesie, Gesangsabenden und Kleinkunsttheater, das in einer engen Verbindung zu den Sammlungen des Museums oder auch der mediterranen Identität der Stadt steht.
Das Café-Restaurant des Museums bietet eine schattige Terrasse mit Blick auf den Cimetière marin, die Hafenmole, die Hafeneinfahrt und das Mittelmeer (Brasserie des Arts: Tel. +33 4 99 02 36 92).
