Die Nekropole der französischen Könige und Königinnen beeindruckt durch ihre Größe und die Pracht ihrer Glasfenster. Jahrhundert, doch ihre Geschichte reicht bis ins 5. Jahrhundert zurück, als eine erste Basilika an der Grabstätte von Saint-Denis errichtet wurde, der als erster Bischof von Paris galt. Heute beherbergt die Basilika ein außergewöhnliches Ensemble von 70 Gisants und geschnitzten Grabmälern, darunter die von Chlodwig, Franz I. und Katharina von Medici.
