Jahrhundert schenkte Philipp VI. von Valois die Burg Nicolas de Braque, seinem Großsilberschmied. Die feudale Burg wurde während des Hundertjährigen Krieges zerstört und 1389 von Jean Braque wieder aufgebaut, der sie zu einer imposanten Festung ausbaute. Nachdem sie 1424 von den Engländern geschleift worden war, baute Georges de Brilhac, Berater und Kammerherr des Herzogs von Orléans, sie aus den Ruinen wieder auf.
