Das Schloss liegt in der Gemeinde Giry, die im Département Nièvre in der Region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté liegt. Es ist am Hang des Hügels erbaut, der das Tal von Nièvre d'Arzembouy überblickt. Das Schloss von Giry ist ein ehemaliges, langgestrecktes feudales Haus mit vier runden Türmen an den Ecken, die mit Schießscharten durch Zinnen verbunden sind, und wird durch ein befestigtes Tor verteidigt. Man erkennt die Rillen, die die Arme der Zugbrücke beherbergten.
