Es gibt keine Dokumente, die uns die Bauzeit der ersten Kirche in Champigneulles verraten. Was das heutige Gebäude betrifft, so stammt das erste Chorjoch aus dem Jahr 1618 und das Kirchenschiff aus dem Jahr 1774. 1686 bezahlte die Einwohnergemeinde einen Zimmermanns- und Dachdeckermeister, um das Kreuz des Glockenturms, das schief hing und umzufallen drohte, aufzurichten und wieder ins Lot zu bringen. Im Jahr 1712 ließ sie Arbeiten am Turm, am Portal, im Chor und im Kirchenschiff durchführen. Die Kirche erwies sich jedoch als zu klein und 1772 wurde beschlossen, sie unter Beibehaltung des gewölbten Chors zu vergrößern.
