Der Turm Jean XXII ist das einzige Überbleibsel des Palastes, in dem Pierre Duèze, der Bruder des aus Cahors stammenden Papstes Johannes XXII, wohnte.
Jacques Duèze wurde 1244 in Cahors geboren und stammte aus einer Familie der wohlhabenden Bourgeoisie von Cahors. Er wurde 1316 unter dem Namen Johannes XXII. zum Papst gewählt.
Der 34 m hohe Turm ist von fünf Stockwerken mit Zwillingsfenstern durchbrochen.
Der Turm kann nicht besichtigt werden, sondern ist nur von außen zu sehen.
