Als 1646 die königliche Manufaktur Dijonval gegründet wurde, wurde das neu zu Frankreich gehörende Sedan zum ersten Zentrum für die Herstellung feiner Bettlaken nach holländischem Verfahren. Das Dijonval war über 300 Jahre lang ein Ort industrieller Arbeit, an dem Tausende von Männern und Frauen nacheinander arbeiteten, die die Größe und den Ruf der Textilindustrie von Sedan begründeten. Die noch heute erhaltenen Gebäude, die eher an einen Palast als an eine Fabrik erinnern, sind ein großartiges Beispiel für die Architektur des 18. Jahrhundert. Nur die Fassade ist sichtbar.
