Ursprünglich beerdigten die Mennoniten ihre Toten in ihren Gärten. Die Salmer wählten ab dem 19. Jahrhundert ein Grundstück, um die Gräber aufzunehmen, deren Lage nun durch Stelen mit besonderen Formen und Verzierungen, einem einfachen eingravierten Herz, markiert wurde. Im Gegensatz zu dem Friedhof in Bourg-Bruche wird dieser Friedhof nicht mehr genutzt
Er befindet sich auf Privatbesitz und ist für die Öffentlichkeit nicht zugänglich. Er kann in der Regel anlässlich der Tage des Kulturerbes im September besichtigt werden.
