Das 1991 gegründete Centre de Recherche sur l'Histoire des Familles (früher CDHF) ist eine Originalgründung des Conseil Général du Haut-Rhin.
Einzigartig in seiner Art, stellt es der Öffentlichkeit eine umfangreiche historische, thematische und genealogische Dokumentation zur Verfügung. Es kann jegliche genealogische Forschung in den Zivilstandsregistern vor 1892 und den Pfarrregistern des Ancien Régime für das heutige Département Haut-Rhin durchführen.
Er verfügt über eine umfangreiche genealogische Bibliothek, die sich mit den Familien Frankreichs befasst. Es verfügt über einen umfangreichen Archivbestand, der sich auf ganz Frankreich bezieht.
