Auf halbem Weg zwischen Saint-Emilion und Sauternes liegt die Bastide Sauveterre-de-Guyenne, die 1281 vom englischen König Edward I. gegründet wurde. Der Park- und Servicebereich befindet sich in der Nähe eines Picknickplatzes, des historischen Stadtzentrums und der Geschäfte (5 Minuten zu Fuß). Der Blick geht auf die Weinberge und die Stadt ist der Hauptort des wichtigsten Weinbaukantons Entre-deux-Mers. Hier werden die Weine der AOC-Appellationen Bordeaux (Rot, Weiß, Rosé, Clairet), Bordeaux Supérieur, Entre-deux-Mers und Crémant de Bordeaux hergestellt. In Bezug auf das Kulturerbe hat die Stadt den für Bastiden typischen orthogonalen Grundriss, den von Arkaden gesäumten zentralen Platz und die Überreste der mittelalterlichen Befestigungsanlagen bewahrt. Sie können sogar einen der mittelalterlichen Türme besichtigen.
