Die Kirche von Chastanier ist ein romanisches Gebäude aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, das dem Heiligen Jakobus dem Älteren geweiht ist. Sie unterstand dem Kloster Langogne und war ein Zwischenstopp auf dem Jakobsweg. Sie wurde aus Granitsteinen errichtet und besitzt einen Glockenturm mit zwei Buchten. Das Eingangsportal besteht aus mehreren Spitzbogenwölbungen, die im 15.
Das Kirchenschiff hat ein Tonnengewölbe und ist in drei Felder unterteilt. Der Chor hat ein flaches Kopfende und beherbergt einen schönen Altar mit bemerkenswerten rosafarbenen Verzierungen. Das Chorjoch wurde im 15. Jahrhundert als Ersatz für die ursprüngliche romanische Apsis hinzugefügt, von der noch Überreste zu sehen sind. Aus dem 12. Jahrhundert sind nur noch zwei Säulen, die den ersten Doppelboden tragen, und die Südwände mit Fenstern erhalten.
