Im Weiler Duris, einem ehemaligen Töpferdorf in der Nähe von Magnac-Bourg, wurden die Dachfirstähren hergestellt. Sie stammen aus dem reichen Untergrund und verdanken ihre Existenz einer Tonader, die übrigens immer noch von Zieglern abgebaut wird. Die Ähren ähneln kunstvoll gearbeiteten Krügen, die an den beiden Verbindungsstellen der vier Dachflächen angebracht werden, um das Dachgebälk vor Witterungseinflüssen zu schützen. Als äußeres Zeichen des Reichtums halten sie auch böse Geister und Zauber ab.
