Die Statue befindet sich am Place Blanqui und ist von einem Aquarell des berühmten italienischen Cartoonisten und Künstlers Milo Manara inspiriert, der für seinen sinnlichen und raffinierten Stil bekannt ist. Sie stellt die Schauspielerin dar, wie sie im Film „Et Dieu... crea la femme “ (1956) auftrat.
Das Bild zeigt Bardot in einer verspielten und eleganten Position und unterstreicht ihren ikonischen Status als Symbol für Stil und Sex.
Die Statue wurde am 28. September 2017, ihrem 83. Geburtstag, als Hommage an Brigitte Bardot eingeweiht , die in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren den weltweiten Ruhm von Saint-Tropez mitprägte.
Die Statue ist 2,5 Meter hoch und wiegt 700 kg. Bardots Einfluss auf die Stadt ist enorm: Sie machte Saint-Tropez zu einem Treffpunkt für Prominente, Künstler und Touristen.
Im Juni 2021 erhielt die Bronzestatue dank der Auftragung von Tausenden von 23,75-karätigen Blattgold durch den Künstler Émilien Schaefer ein neues Aussehen. Seitdem erstrahlt die Statue in metallischem Goldglanz.
