Der Giant's Causeway ist die beliebteste Touristenattraktion in Nordirland. Der Giant's Causeway ist ein Gebiet von etwa 40.000 miteinander verbundenen Basaltsäulen, das Ergebnis eines alten Vulkanausbruchs. Er wurde 1986 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erklärt. In einer Umfrage unter den Lesern von Radio Times im Jahr 2005 wurde der Giant's Causeway als das viertgrößte natürliche Wunder im Vereinigten Königreich benannt. Die Spitzen der Säulen bilden Trittsteine, die von der Kliffbasis führen und unter dem Meer verschwinden. Die meisten der Säulen sind sechseckig, obwohl es auch einige mit vier, fünf, sieben oder acht Seiten gibt. Die höchsten sind etwa 12 Meter hoch, und die erstarrte Lava in den Klippen ist stellenweise 28 Meter dick.
