Die berühmten Petroglyphen des kleinen, aber historischen Dorfes Asfolytis sind mit einem eigenartigen Mann verbunden: Michalis Roussos. Er lebte in Asfontylitis in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Da er behindert war, konnte er sich nicht leicht mit seinem Stuhl auf den engen und überfüllten labyrinthartigen Straßen der Siedlung bewegen. Während er also mehrere Stunden wartete, bis seine Verwandten ihre Arbeit beendet hatten, verbrachte er seine Zeit damit, mit einem Hammer und einem Meißel Petroglyphen zu erstellen. Und man findet diese überall. Aber besonders hier, in der Nähe der Wasserzisternen. Denn hier traf er Menschen, die anhielten, um etwas Wasser zu trinken und Informationen auszutauschen, die Michaelis nutzte, um neue Zeichnungen zu machen.
