Die Plitvicer Seen wurden 1979 in die UNESCO-Welterbeliste der geschützten Naturgebiete aufgenommen. Die 16 Seen mit dazwischenliegenden 90 Wasserfällen sind aus einem natürlichen Ablagerungsprozess des fließenden Wassers in diesem Gebiet entstanden. Im Park rund um die Seen finden viele seltene Tiere ihr Zuhause. Kurz gesagt, dieser Park ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert, wenn Sie in Kroatien sind!
