Les lacs de Plitvice ont été inscrits en 1979 sur la liste du patrimoine mondial des sites naturels protégés de l'UNESCO.
Les 16 lacs, avec 90 cascades entre eux, sont le résultat d'un processus d'accumulation naturelle par les eaux de cette région. Dans le parc autour des lacs, de nombreux animaux rares trouvent refuge.
En résumé, ce parc vaut vraiment le détour si vous êtes en Croatie !
