Der Évançon ist der Bach, der durch das Val d'Ayas fließt und in die Doire baltée mündet. Sein Name im Franco-Provenzalischen könnte "Großer Fluss" oder "Fluss von den Berggipfeln" bedeuten. In Archivdokumenten wird er oft als l'eau blanche bezeichnet.
Der Bach hat seinen Ursprung im Großen Gletscher von Verra am oberen Ende des Val d'Ayas. Nachdem er durch das Tal geflossen ist, mündet der Évançon in die Dora Baltea in Verrès, nahe der Brücke von Fleuran. Er fließt durch: Ayas, Brusson, Challand-Saint-Anselme und Challand-Saint-Victor. Nahe Targnod in der Gemeinde Challand-Saint-Victor fließt der Bach durch die Schlucht von Brisecou. Seine Basis ist von der Straße nach Isollaz in einem kurzen Fußweg erreichbar und ein guter Aussichtspunkt kann mit dem Auto auf der Straße erreicht werden, die zum Schloss Verrès führt.
