Die Skulptur mit dem Titel „Wasser und Sonne“ wurde 1988 von dem niederländischen Künstler Nic Jonk geschaffen. Die Statue wurde im Parco della Rocca aufgestellt.
Nicolaas „Nic“ Jonk (Grootschermer, 11. Juli 1928 – Alkmaar, 11. Oktober 1994) war ein niederländischer bildender Künstler, der vor allem für seine üppigen Bilder mythologischer Szenen, Frauen und Tiere bekannt war. Er war auch als Grafiker, Maler und Schmuckdesigner tätig.
An etwa 200 Stellen im öffentlichen Raum der Niederlande stehen Statuen von Nic Jonk. Seine Arbeiten sind auch an öffentlichen Orten in Belgien, Deutschland, Italien, Curaçao und den Vereinigten Staaten präsent.
