Der Tempel wurde im 14. Jahrhundert neben dem riesigen Karmeliterkloster jener Zeit erbaut, das um das 12. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde. Nach den ersten Eingriffen im Jahr 1514 wurde die Kirche im Jahr 1633 grundlegend renoviert. Das Kloster wurde mehrmals renoviert, bis es 1905 für den Bau einer Schule abgerissen wurde.
Die Kirche ist ein schönes Beispiel barocker Kunst mit zwei Eingängen: Der erste befindet sich in der Hauptfassade, die im 19. Jahrhundert umgebaut wurde; Das zweite ist ein elegantes barockes Steinportal mit wunderschönem Design.
Neben der Nebenfassade befindet sich ein steinerner Glockenturm aus dem 18. Jahrhundert .
