Bant liegt an der Autobahn A6, zwischen den Orten Emmeloord und Lemmer. Der Dorfkern befindet sich etwa fünf Kilometer vom Kuinderwald entfernt. Auf alten Karten ist zu sehen, dass der Standort von Bant ursprünglich auf dem Grundstück zwischen dem Creilervaart und dem Noorderringweg auf dem sogenannten Kavel Tiesingha geplant war. Warum davon abgewichen wurde, ist nicht bekannt. Auf diesem Grundstück befand sich das ehemalige Arbeiterlager Westvaart, benannt nach dem Kanal, der nach Westen verlief, dem heutigen Creilervaart. Hier befindet sich auch noch ein Wippbecken für die Schifffahrt bei der alten Heu-Trocknungsanlage.
