Das Schloss Schaloen oder Chaloen stammt mindestens aus dem Jahr 1381. Durch den Spanisch-Niederländischen Krieg im sechzehnten Jahrhundert wurde das Schloss nahezu vollständig zerstört, konnte jedoch 1656 wieder aufgebaut werden. 1894 wurde das Schloss von dem Architekten P.J.H. Cuypers gründlich im neugotischen Stil restauriert. Das Schloss besteht vollständig aus Mergelstein.
Das Schloss hat heutzutage nicht mehr die Funktion, die es früher hatte, aber die Ställe und Nebengebäude werden jetzt als Hotel genutzt. Das Schloss selbst kann nicht besichtigt werden.
