Der Platz ist nach dem Bossche Künstler Jeroen Bosch benannt. Er liegt an der Hinthamerstraße beim Jheronimus Bosch Kunstzentrum. Die ursprüngliche Funktion des Platzes war Parkplatz für die Sint-Jacobskirche. Nachdem die Kirche von der Gottesdienstnutzung entzogen wurde und das Gebäude im Jahr 2006 eine neue Bestimmung erhielt, beschloss die Gemeinde 's-Hertogenbosch, diesem Stück der Straße einen anderen Namen zu geben.
