La place est nommée d'après le peintre artistique de 's-Hertogenbosch Jeroen Bosch. Elle est située sur la Hinthamerstraat près du Jheronimus Bosch Art Center. La fonction originelle de la place était un parking pour l'église Saint-Jacques. Après que l'église a été désaffectée et que le bâtiment a reçu une nouvelle destination en 2006, la municipalité de 's-Hertogenbosch a décidé de donner un autre nom à cette partie de la rue.
