Kennzeichnend für den Kralinger Wald ist die Lage um den Kralinger See. Das Gebiet ist ungefähr 200 Hektar groß und wird begrenzt durch die Kralinger Plaslaan, die Kralingseweg, die Bosdreef und die Boszoom; das Gebiet ist auch unter dem Namen Kralingerhout bekannt. Die Hälfte der Fläche besteht aus Wasser, die andere Hälfte aus Wald und Wiesen. Entlang des Sees liegen einige Gastronomiebetriebe und zwei Mühlen. Es gibt einen Yachthafen und rund um den Langen Pfad befinden sich Leichtathletikfelder. Der Freizeitstrand wird im Sommer stark besucht.
