Characteristic of the Kralingse Forest is its location around the Kralingse Lake. The area is approximately 200 hectares and is bounded by the Kralingse Plaslaan, Kralingseweg, Bosdreef, and Boszoom; the area is also known by the name Kralingerhout. Half of the surface consists of water, while the other half consists of forest and grassland. Along the lake, there are several catering establishments and two windmills. There is a sailing marina, and around the Lange Pad, there are athletics fields. The recreational beach is popular in the summer.
