Die Blokhuispoort ist ein Gebäudekomplex, der bis Dezember 2007 als Gefängnis in der Stadt Leeuwarden diente. Das heutige Gebäude wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts an der Stelle errichtet, an der bereits um 1500 ein Gefängnis stand. Die Blokhuispoort befindet sich an der südöstlichen Ecke der alten Innenstadt. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte hat sie viele Anpassungen und Erweiterungen erfahren und diente seit 1580 als Gefängnis. In der Form, die sie jetzt hat, ist der Komplex 130 Jahre alt und hat 180 Zellen. Die Blokhuispoort konnte den heutigen Sicherheitsanforderungen, die an eine Justizvollzugsanstalt gestellt werden, nicht mehr gerecht werden und müsste für 15.000.000 € umgebaut werden.
