La Blokhuispoort è un complesso di edifici che ha funzionato come casa di detenzione nella città di Leeuwarden fino a dicembre 2007. L'edificio attuale è stato costruito nella seconda metà del XIX secolo nel luogo dove già nel 1500 si trovava una prigione. La Blokhuispoort si trova all'angolo sud-est del vecchio centro città. Nel corso dei secoli ha subito molte modifiche ed ampliamenti e dal 1580 ha svolto la funzione di prigione. Nella forma attuale, il complesso ha 130 anni ed è composto da 180 celle. La Blokhuispoort non poteva più soddisfare i requisiti di sicurezza moderni richiesti per un'istituzione penitenziaria e avrebbe dovuto essere ristrutturato per €15.000.000.
