Die Salamander ist eine Holzsäge-mühle in der niederländischen Stadt Leidschendam. Die Mühle wurde 1777 als Ersatz für einen ausgebrannten Vorgänger aus dem 17. Jahrhundert erbaut. Sie war bis 1953 in Betrieb. Die Drehbewegung der Mühle wird mit Hilfe von Antriebsriemen auf den Sägebereich übertragen, wo an der Kurbelwelle befestigte Hubkurbeln die beiden Sägeblätter in Bewegung setzen. Die Salamander hat eine Kurbelwelle mit vier Kurbeln, aber es werden nur zwei davon verwendet. Daran sind die beiden Sägeblätter gekoppelt. Ab Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde eine Dampfmaschine eingesetzt, um auch bei Windstille sägen zu können. Diese Dampfmaschine wurde mit Abfallholz betrieben.
