Die Holterberg ist ein hügeliges Gebiet, das Teil des Nationalparks Sallandse Heuvelrug ist. Die Holterberg verdankt ihren Namen dem Overijsseler Dorf Holten, das südlich von diesem Gebiet liegt. Im Norden grenzt dieses Gebiet an die Haarlerberg und die Noetselerberg. Dieses Naturschutzgebiet umfasst viele Heideflächen, die von Wäldern abwechselnd durchzogen werden. Nur auf der Holterberg und der Hohen Veluwe kommen in den Niederlanden Auerhühner vor.
