Die Marechaussekaserne in 's-Heerenberg wurde dank des Einsatzes einiger Berghener wie Herr Gijs van Elk vor dem Abriss gerettet und ziert nun als eines der schönsten Denkmäler von Bergh an der Ecke der Plantsoensingel-Süd und der Emmerikseweg. Die Marechaussee, die in 's-Heerenberg stationiert war, spielte auch eine wichtige Rolle in der Kriegsgeschichte von Bergh.
